Former Knight Ridder chairman Alvah Chapman convenes We Will Rebuild in 1992 after Hurricane Andrew as a private sector committee to coordinate the economic recovery of Homestead and south Miami-Dade with government and philanthropic funds. Miami Today describes it in 2020 as a comprehensive recovery effort and a success. The dissolution year is not documented in the sources used and is set to the end of the main rebuilding period reported for Homestead.
