The Homestead City Council approves an 80 year ground lease on 30 July 2025 for a $275 million sports complex on 112.5 acres of Homestead Regional Park at 1601 SE 28th Avenue. Developer VSGS Facilities, led by Dario Sala and Juan Sebastian Veron with Miami FC owner Riccardo Silva, plans a 10,000 seat stadium, a 100 to 150 room hotel, a sports academy and public courts. WLRN reports about 4,300 construction jobs and 600 permanent positions. Completion is targeted for 2030.
