Equity One starts construction in May 2004 on a Publix anchored center at SW 137th Avenue and SW 288th Street beside the Waterstone community, with 12,000 square feet of shops and outparcels for a drug store, bank and restaurant. Completion is set for the first quarter of 2005 with Publix opening on 1 April 2005 as Homestead's second Publix. Developer Doron Valero says land prices have quadrupled since the parcel was bought two years earlier.
