Cut in 1883 by William Fuzzard and Cutler settlers along the coastal ridge and declared a public road in 1895, it is renamed Ingraham Highway in 1916 for Flagler land commissioner James Ingraham. The 14.9 mile road runs from Cocoplum Circle through Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay to US 1 in Goulds. The Florida Legislature designates it a State Historic Highway in 1974.
