Campbell Drive is named for Thomas Alexander Campbell, a Homestead pioneer whose sons ran a furniture store on Krome Avenue in the 1920s. It carries Turnpike exit 2 traffic, opened with the Homestead extension in 1973 and 1974, past Homestead Hospital to US 1 and the SW 312 St BRT station. FDOT widens it as the first leg of the Krome Avenue truck bypass in 2020 and 2021. The year given is the Turnpike interchange; the street itself is older.
