W. D. Horne builds the Homestead Inn in 1904 as a rooming house, supply store and post office beside the new railway, and it is the oldest building in Homestead. A fire in the attic damages it on 10 November 1913. It closes in 2020 during the pandemic and reopens under new ownership at 5 S Flagler Avenue.
