The Redland Farm Life School opens in 1916 with 195 students at 16001 SW 248th Street as a consolidated school for the farming district. Hurricane Andrew damages it in 1992 and a replacement Redland Elementary School is built to the north. The historic building receives an exterior restoration and in 2018 the county plans a culinary centre and agritourism hub with commercial kitchens for farmers.
