The rodeo arena opens in 1958 on the former Homestead city airport and the grounds are dedicated as Tom J. Harris Field in 1960. The arena is rededicated in 1989 for Dr. John W. Doc DeMilly, the association president killed in 1985. Hurricane Andrew destroys the facility on 24 August 1992 and members rebuild it for the 1994 rodeo.
