Homestead builds the 6,500 seat stadium for 22 million dollars in 1991 as a spring training home for the Cleveland Indians, who are to start in 1993. Hurricane Andrew wrecks it in August 1992 and the Indians use an out clause to go to Winter Haven. The rebuilt stadium hosts the Florida Legends women's team in 1998 and filming of Any Given Sunday in 1999, serves temporarily as a police station and is demolished on 20 May 2019 after Hurricane Irma damage.
