The Homestead City Council votes in 2019 to create a municipal library and the Cybrarium opens at 80 West Mowry Drive on 18 March 2021 as part of the downtown redevelopment programme. The 23,800 square foot building holds more than 34,000 physical items, a children's theatre, a virtual reality cube and a makerspace. Library Systems and Services operates it for the city and it reports about 150,000 checkouts in a year.
