Edward Stiling, born in Ontario in 1860, buys thirteen ten acre tracts from the Tatum Brothers in August 1910, lays out the streets of Detroit and promotes the colony from a Detroit real estate office. He is postmaster from December 1910, finishes Dr Benjamin F. Forrest's term as mayor in 1916 and is elected mayor in 1918 and again in 1938. He dies in Homestead in 1945.
