Dr William C. Cutler of Massachusetts buys 600 acres north of the Perrine Grant in the early 1880s and persuades William Fuzzard to settle there; Fuzzard builds a two storey house and the Cutler post office opens in 1883. Cutler visits until his death in 1899. Cutler Ridge, Cutler Bay and Old Cutler Road carry his name.
