The Florida land boom reaches South Dade in 1924 and 1925: the Town of Tenalla is platted in the Franjo area with Franjo Park in 1924, Leisure City is platted on 2,300 acres for retirees, and James Sottile forms the Cadillac Development Corporation in 1925. The 1926 hurricane ends the boom and Saga Bay is not built on the Tenalla lands until 1972.
